Under 12 Lions Report

               Report :3

RESULT: Ockendon Rhinos 2 Signet United 3

Three goals and three more points for Signet Under Twelve’s in the second game of the current campaign. I’m sure the Boys decided to make this weeks offering a little more interesting than the demolition of Horndon two weeks earlier when, after seemingly cruising to a comfortable victory they allowed Ockendon back into the match and ensured we all endured a nail-biting final eight minutes. In all honesty this match should have been over well before its final quarter. Signet held a 2-0 lead at the half time interval although post, bar and some good goalkeeping by the Ockendon custodian prevented the boys taking what would have been an unassailable lead to the break. Brandon opened the scoring for Signet after twenty-three minutes, heading into the Ockendon net following a right wing Lewis Scott cross. Signets second goal arrived three minutes later following on from more good work on the right, with Jack Mason and Brandon combining for the latter to square a ball across the six yard box enabling Jack Killworth to slot home his fifth goal of the season.

Signets third and final goal came ten minutes into the second half after the Boys quickly turned defence into a attack and another left wing raid that started with Carl at left back and via Kieran on the left wing saw Brandon score his second goal of the game at the far post. With eight minutes left Ockendon were given a lifeline when The Boys conceded their first goal of the game, four minutes later and Ockendon were within one goal of squaring the match thanks to another fortuitous effort that ensured The Travelling Barmy Army were left to endure a tense final four minutes before our ever alert official brought the match to an end and ensured The Lads kept up their 100% start to the new season.

This weeks squad; Ryan Emery, Billy Brock, Kris Necchi, Jack Soden, Lewis Scott, Jack Mason, Kieran Banks, Brandon Nandyh, Jake McCabe, Billy Holloway, Jack Killworth, Carl Austin.
